What a quarter!
From the final adoption of the Downtown Streetscape Plan to another record-breaking Whale of a Sale, Q2 was packed with projects that are helping make Downtown Anacortes an even more vibrant place to live, work, shop, and visit.
A few highlights:
- 🌼 Our volunteers refreshed 35 downtown planters and installed 100 hanging baskets just in time for spring.
- 🚒 Sparky, our tiny Japanese fire truck, became an unexpected local celebrity while helping keep downtown blooming.
- 🐋 Whale of a Sale welcomed more than 6,000 shoppers, with participating businesses reporting median sales 18.5% higher than last year’s event.
- 🤝 We launched new partnerships—from a Downtown Food Tour to creative projects with Bayshore and the Port of Anacortes—that showcase what happens when great local ideas come together.
- ❤️ Our incredible volunteers donated 1,381 hours this quarter—the equivalent of more than $57,000 in community investment.
