Spring is showing up in all the best ways downtown—and you can really start to feel the momentum.

April has been especially fun, with downtown full of energy from the Tulip Festival, creative storefronts, and more people out exploring. Our Tulip Window Walk is in full swing, and businesses have gone all out—if you haven’t wandered through yet, it’s worth a stroll. Be sure to vote for your favorite window while you’re at it!
We’re seeing great progress on the Downtown Streetscape Plan, with strong community input helping shape what comes next. At the same time, more visible improvements are starting to take shape—from early façade projects to the steady work of making downtown more welcoming and vibrant.
We also want to say a big thank you to the building owners investing in downtown. Work on historic buildings like the Platt, Shannon, Majestic, and the Anacortes American building—along with other upgrades and renovations—are making a real, visible difference block by block.
A couple easy ways to jump in:
• Earth Day — tonight at 8pm, and tomorrow (Saturday) from 4–6pm
• Spring Gardening Team — join us May 2nd to help refresh downtown planters for the season
And one to put on your calendar:
• Whale of a Sale — June 27 (our big summer sidewalk sale—you won’t want to miss it)
If you’ve been curious about supporting this work in a bigger way, we’re off to a strong start with this year’s Main Street Tax Credit program—and there’s still room for a few more partners to jump in.

And if you missed it, here’s a quick look back at 2025: 2025 Downtown Anacortes Impact Report
Thanks for being part of the energy and momentum downtown—we’re excited for what’s ahead.
See you out there,
Downtown Anacortes Alliance
