Police Chief Dave Floyd and Councilmember Ryan Walters joined downtown business leaders for the monthly Rise and Learn seminar that we co-host with the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce. They shared changes in our codes and enforcement that support public safety and parking. These included improvements to hiring staff (5 new staff in 6 months), and rewriting the criminal code and parking code to make our codes easier to understand and update, and removing guidance that conflicts with state and other local code.
