Jennifer McCallum-Juckett is a third-generation Anacortes native, whose family has owned and operated downtown businesses and real estate since 1890. “The Downtown Anacortes Alliance projects are capturing and enhancing the amazing characteristics of our historic business and island community”, says Jennifer, and is “thrilled to be a sponsor of such a vibrant organization.”
William G. McCallum, her father, secured and brokered the Shell Oil Refinery sale in 1954 which increased the City’s prosperity and its population from 5000 to 8000 along with selling new housing developments for the increased population. William H. McCallum, her grandfather, owned a Mercantile business, a real estate and insurance business, and was instrumental in raising the capital in 1916 for the original Guemes Island Ferry. Both father and son were active in supporting downtown Anacortes businesses, as they existed in the 1890s and throughout their lives. The love of downtown Anacortes was instilled in Jennifer since birth.
Jennifer is married to Attorney Russ Juckett and has two adult children, Lyle, who is a partner in a landscape materials yard on Camano Island, and Lorie, who works for an entertainment consulting company in Los Angeles. They both love Anacortes and call it their real home. Jennifer owns real estate properties, including on Commercial Ave with fantastic business owners/tenants, and lives on Cap Sante, raising oysters off their boat dock, while watching amazing wildlife, including whales, and pleasure/commerce vessels passing through the waters of the Guemes Channel.
