Supporting your local Main Street organization – the Downtown Anacortes Alliance – is an investment in the future of the community. You can help enhance and revitalize our historic Anacortes downtown as a community-centered place where we live, work and play.

Become a Community Supporter with an annual donation of $2,000.

Our challenge this year is to match a grant from Washington Main Street to demonstrate that we have diverse and sustainable support from private companies and individuals. This will help qualify Anacortes as a Main Street Community, making businesses eligible for the Washington State B&O Tax Credit program (see below). For the coming years, we are asking for your help in establishing a stable funding level to maintain operations. This will sustain our mission, leverage community resources, and maintain continuity in achieving our vision.

It’s our goal to be a good steward of programs and projects, operating the Downtown Anacortes Alliance as efficiently as possible. Our operating budget primarily covers the cost of a part or full time Executive Director and eventually a small office downtown. Beyond that, we expect most projects and events to be self-sustaining with DAA assistance.

OTHER OPTIONS FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE
When we become a full-fledged Main Street Community (ETA 1-2 years), our corporate and business donors will be eligible to apply for the Washington State B&O Tax Credit program. It offers a $75 tax credit for every $100 that a business donates to a qualified Main Street organization. The remaining $25 is typically deducted as a charitable donation.
