As we move through this vibrant summer season, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate all the incredible progress that’s happened downtown—and to thank you for being part of it.

In the second quarter of this year, more than 1,000 volunteer hours helped us bring new energy to downtown Anacortes. With your support, we refreshed every planter with vibrant blooms, launched our first-ever Planter Patrol, and rolled out stunning hanging baskets and planters that have made our streets feel more colorful and welcoming than ever.
We also hosted two of our biggest community events yet: a spectacular Earth Day weekend, complete with a life-size orca built from upcycled sails and over 100 beautiful lanterns, and our record-breaking Whale of a Sale, which welcomed over 6,000 shoppers to our downtown core.
Behind the scenes, we launched a new façade grant program to support business and property owners, and we were proud to help champion the City’s decision to select First Forty Feet to lead the upcoming Downtown Streetscape Plan. And in May, we traveled to Bellingham for a full-day tour with Daylight Properties, where we learned from their decades of experience revitalizing historic buildings and curating vibrant downtown spaces.
Momentum is building, and the best part is—we’re just getting started.
